Demonstrational training on the ice

GOALS:
• To reinforce the basic skills of skating technique

1.

Warm-up. Football in pairs 1x1

Pair up the players. Each pair has a ball. The pairs play 1x1 with two nets, across the ice.

2.

Two leg C-cuts with scissors forward, without stick

2 min

Bring the toes of skates to the sides, then bring them back by rotating the toes of skates to the inside.

3.

Backward skating with dropping on one knee

2 min

When dropping down on one knee and getting up from the ice, the heel of the slate should be up.

4.

Forward skating with stepping from one leg to the other (without stick)

2 min

Skating forward, step from one skate to the other transferring the body weight to the gliding leg. Distribute the body weight over the whole surface of the skate blade.

Skating forward with dropping to one knee

When dropping down and getting up, the heel of the skate should be up.

6.

Two-leg C-cuts with scissors backward

2 min

Push off by bending the knees and bringing the heels of the skates to the sides, then bring them together again while straightening the knees.

7.

Short slalom on two skates forward, without gliding (without stick)

2 min

Skates close to each other. Push off with executing squats and straightening the legs, at the same time rotate the toes of skates to the side of the turns.

8.

Backward skating stepping from one leg to the other (without stick)

2 min

Skating backward, step from one leg to the other transferring the body weight to the gliding leg.

9.

Forward skating with right/left leg lunges (without stick)

2 min

Skating forward, execute lunges transferring the body weight to the supporting leg.

10.

Short slalom backward (without stick)

2 min

When executing the turn, transfer the body weight from one leg to the other with the knees bent and pushing off with the whole skate blade.

11.

High knees forward skating with dropping down on one knee (without stick)

2 min

Skating forward, lift the right/left thigh from time to time and get down on the knee of the same leg.

12.

Pivot from forward to backward skating without changing firection (without stick)

2 min

Start the turn from turning shoulders.
Make the push using the whole inside edge of the blade.
Keep the skates wide to have a stable base.

13.

High knees backward skating with dropping down on one knee (without stick)

2 min

Skating backward, lift the right/left thigh from time to time and get down on the others leg knee.

14.

Heel-to-heel skating

2 min

Step on one foot, rotate the other leg and plant it on the ice with its heel to the other heel. Alternate pushes of inside edges

15.

Gliding on the outside edge of the skate blade, forward (with stick)

5 min

Push off with one leg and skate around the tire gliding on the outside edge of the others leg skate. Repeat the same with the other leg. Stick blade is on the ice.

16.

Right – left turns with crossovers, backward (without stick)

2 min

Smooth movements. Control the direction of the gliding with the heels of the skates. When making a crossover, keep the skate as close to the ice as possible. Look back through left and right shoulder. Back is straight, amortization with the knees.

17.

Slalom forward (without stick)

2 min

Make a push with getting lower and straighten the legs. Point the toes to the direction of the turn.

18.

Gliding on the inside edge of the skate blade - forward

2 min

Push off with one leg and move around the tire gliding on the inside edge of the others leg skate blade. Repeat the same with the other leg.

19.

Gliding strides skating

5 min

Try to straighten the leg in the knee and ankle, push off back and to the side with the whole surface of the skate blade.

Drink only warm water.

20.

Turns in an arch with crossovers forward, with stickhandling and shot

5 min

Rotate the head and the shoulders to the side of the turn. While doing a crossover, transfer the skate as close to the ice as possible, do not lift it high.

21.

Pivot from forward to backward skating with changing direction, with stickhandling and shot

Start the turn from turning shoulders.
Make the push using the whole inside edge of the blade.
Keep the skates wide to have a stable base. The arms work continuously, keeping the puck on the stick blade. After finishing the distance, shoot to the net.

22.

Turns in an arch with crossovers, backward, with stickhandling and shot

Rotate the head and the shoulders to the side of the turn. While doing a crossover, transfer the skate as close to the ice as possible, do not lift it high. The arms work continuously, keeping the puck on the stick blade. After finishing the distance, shoot to the net.

Small area games: 4x4 with two nets

5 min

Split the players into the groups of 4. 4x4 game with two nets across the ice. One shift – 60 seconds
