We regularly hold meetings where we present and talk about the Manual.
The Manual created by IIHA headed by Yuri Karmanov is really unique! It is unique because many respected hockey experts and coaches were involved in creating this Manual. It is also unique because of detailed description of the training process. This helps to understand all key points and nuances of the on-ice and off-ice hockey training process and it will be helpful not only to professional coaches but also to volunteers . No doubts, Manual will be in demand among thousands of the ‘Golden Puck’ Club’s hockey coaches in all parts of Russia. Our company will continue to support this needed project and help to IIHA.
Ice hockey is a geopolitical sport and for many years hockey played important role for our country. This manual is the result of hard work of study the best world programs for developing ice hockey players. I congratulate authors with their first manual that has no equals. I am sure that Manual will become the table-book for many specialists working in hockey schools and in a few years we will see new hockey stars.
This book will be helpful to those coaches who are looking for the best methods for developing hockey players. With this book even an unexperienced coach will be able to organise practice properly which will help young players to become stars.
I have spent my professional lifetime trying to help improve hockey in my country. I am very familiar to what it takes after 40 years of trying. In the USA we took the best from all Nations and tried to incorporate these great qualities into something that fit our culture. I believe we are succeeding. The Karmanovs have done the same and this book and material is both practical and useful for any Nation. I highly commend them for their pursuit of helping the great game of hockey. I hope every hockey Nation will take a hard look at using this material to help their programs. The answer is to develop your own hockey players and coaches and not rely on short term foreigners to help you succeed. That has never worked.
When I first met Yuri Karmanov, it quickly became clear that he was genuinely interested in developing young hockey players. This impression was further strengthened over the years when we were working on different projects. In this book, Yuri and Svetlana Karmanov have successfully put together, as a fine piece, all the essentials related to the development of children and young hockey players and it is an excellent help and tool for their beginning as well as more experienced coaches.
